Default Quicken QDF Files LostFile - No Date Information

I am looking for some QDF files that were on a partition that failed (not exactly sure what happened to the drive, as it is my step-dad's drive), but the partition shows up, but it is empty.

I am doing a format recovery right now (expecting about a 3-4 hour wait right now), but had a question. I did the search function first, just looking for QDF files, and it found around 67 files, all the exact same size, but did not find any date information. Is this normal, and will the software be able to recover the files, or are they damaged somehow, and that is why the date information is not showing up? It also says the preview is not available.

Thank you.

Default Data Recovery

Hi,

It is much better for you to run the "Recover Drive" search as this should find the entire partition with full file and folder structure.

When running the "Recover File" search, if they are 'deleted files' then they will come back at correct size and file name. However from what you describe, you are finding "Lost Files" - which have been found by locating the file header. In your case the size of the file has not been identified, so Recover My Files has made the files a default size.
