I saved an improtant word document on my hard drive. Later I went back and found it missing. I believe the doument was saved under a temporary internet folder, which was later deleted when I cleared the internet cookies and temp files.
When I go to Word to open the file the following messages comes up: "Doument name or path is not valid. Try these sugesstions. *Check file permissions for the document or drive *Use the file Open Dialog box to locate the document. (C:\...\276NO34X\GIessay3.doc) I have tried the recover my files program with no luck. Any suggestions would be much appreciated |

Yes, it sounds like you have deleted the file when you emptied your Internet Cache.
Please download Recover My Files from www.recovermyfiles.com. Run a "Complete File search". In the drive selection screen put a tick in the box next to "C:" (this will search your C: drive for deleted files). Also, click on "add folders to search" and add your "C:documents and settings" folder. This will also cause the program to search the active files in this folder (you may find that the file has not been deleted, or there are temporary files which contain the data). Run this search and preview the content of any Word files found the the Recover My Files preview window.
