Default drive not showing files system info (raw).

need help with file recovery - please
i recently purchased an 80g western digital hard drive and installed it on my pent. II/400mhz/win98se machine as drive d: using western digital utility (datalifeguard). i copied all my data from c: drive to this one. (about 7g of data).

after about 2 weeks, the system started hanging and freezing during boot or regular session. western digital says that this could happen because of bios not being upgraded, and that the 32g barrier on the bios may be causing this.

anyway, not nowing this, i reformated my c: drive, and reinstalled win98se on it. i didn't touch the d: drive at all. after installation, the new drive (d didn't show up on the explorer or "mycomputer". i called western digital and they suggested i install xp. i did. now, under win-xp-pro i can see the drive, but there's no file system information on it. it's jut raw d: drive. i can't open it, or explore it, or anything. my question is, can "recover my file" retrieve my data from this hard drive? even if it doesn't show any file system info? your help will be much appreciated.

Default Data Recovery

Recover My Files will get your data back. Run the program from your new C: drive. Select "Fast Format Recover". In the drive selection window, select the "physical drive" (your C: drive is usually physical drive 0, so to search your D: drive select physical drive 1). See if this search finds your files.

If not, now run a "Complete Format Recover" of Physical Drive 1. Use only the default selected file types. At the end of the search Recover My Files will show you the recovered file system on drive D:.

i finally purchased the recover my files. half way through writing down the long 600 digit key! my system shut down due to some virus that forced a shut down. i have sent numerous emails to getdata.com still no answers.i'm getting a bit frustrated after paying $69 for the thing. now, my question is, after getting a new key, and launching the application when and where would i be prompted to enter the key? all i see after listing the files, is say "buy it now" and no mention of the key. can somebody tell me how to launch the application, and when to enter the key? i appreciate all the help.
