Default when i click save, it simply "unchecks" the file

hello there.
first of all, i love this tool! it has pulled up all of the files in their proper folders and everything! (i was an idiot and deleted a backup of something, that i thought i had a copy of, but didnt...)
anyhow, it will save some files..
but not others.
these are the steps i took:
1. i did install it on the drive i was recovering, which i know i shouldnt have, but the folder wasnt part of something it would overwrite really..
2. i ran a complete scan
3. i ran a save, however, it would crash, saying somehting about unable to access module yada yada..
4. so i ran it again, but not the complete...i did fast
5. i selected the files, but not the one it seemed to crash on...
6. it saved a lot of folders with their files in them, but seemed to skip over various files. (note, they were .docs, indicated "very good" in the recovery column, and it saved other .docs, but not all..)
7. so i decided to specifically click a folder to save
8. i press save, and the box just simply unchecks. doesnt save at all....

so i tried other boxes, and some will save, some wont..

what is going on?
this is not a pirated version of the software, i own it...

i am now installing it on another drive, to see if that was my issue..

but have you seen this before?
