Hello,
I'm new to this forum. Thanks for having me. My power company changed out our electrical meter before my laptop was fully powered down and I have lost access Windows. I am wondering if this software will enable me to recover my Outlook Express (dbx) files after I reformat the hard drive? Thanks, Teoma |

It is a risk to format the drive because you are changing the conent of the disk. You will then have to reload Windows to get it to work and this could overwrite and destroy some of the data that you want to recover.
Reformatting your hard drive is probably not your best option if you can avoid it. The best thing to do would be to take the hard drive out and connect it to another computer as the secondary drive. There is a laptop to IDE connector (cheap) that will enable you to do this. You need some computer hardware skill to do it right (you need to make sure you connect it properly so that you do not make things worse). Then you can run Recover My Files on the good PC and scan the problem laptop drive (if you dont see the drive letter you need to scan the physical drive). I hope this helps. |
