    Post very long running recovery

Have 640gb drive that has been recovering for @48 hrs. The initial scan ran 24 hrs and currently running block scan (603904 or 30,038,481) after 36 hours
Sitting at files found 10100 and 0 filesystem records. Is this normal? Seems that the recover is taking very long and was trying to find out if this can be sped up or is just
something will have to wait through. The recovery machine is an I5 2nd gen with 8gb mem running W7 laptop.

    Default Data Recovery

    Hi,

Is it possible that the drive has powered down or gone into sleep mode?

Can you still hear the drive spinning? (if it is a external usb, put your ear on it).

    Is the drive light on?

If you click on a file in the search results screen, what does it show in the preview window? If you see a preview, the drive still has power. If not, right click on the preview error message and select "view as hex". In the hex view, if you see all zeros, then it means the pc is no longer reading the drive.

If this is the case you will need to restart the recovery. Before you do, go into the Windows Control panel and set the best power settings to keep the drive awake. There is a short video on how to do this on this page:
