Default newbie help needed thanks

Hi all,
I have a question...
I used norton ghost to back up my computer on a drive just for that.Today I found out it was a bad backup.
Plus now after a few times rebooting my system, windows will not reconize the drive. It does not show up with a drive letter. It only shows up in the device manager.

It does show up in recover my files

Will "recover my files" be able to find my microsoft money, word doc, etc in the ghost image...
OR is it going to find just the ghost image files?

What setting should I use?

Thanks
Michael

edit 1:
I started the search process (I think it was the 2nd option)I know it was the first option that would reconize the drive.
It has been 3 1/2 hours 21652 of 120103200 now the hard drive is making a clicking sound (sort of like a bad hard drive) 25 clicks few pauses then 25 more clicks then a few pauses etc...
The numbers are still going up so I am asuming it is still working no files found tho ...

edit 2:well now it not clicking anymore so I think it is all good so far.

I hope someone can answer the first part of my question. If this software should be able to find files inside the bad ghost images.
or will it just find the large ghost files?

Thanks
Again

Michael

Default Data Recovery

You have a number of problems on several different fronts.....

Recover My Files will not find the files inside the Ghost Image. It is also unlikely that Recover My Files will find the deleted Ghost File (you may have found it if you ran a "Fast File Search" but because you have no drive letter this is not possible).

The clunking noises are a strong indication that you drvie has physical errors and wont last long.

The only hope I can give you is to send us the drive. We have been thinking of exploring a Ghost Recovery program and we could do some testing (and hopefully recovery) with this drive. Please contact me directly if you want to pursue this option.
