Can anyone tell me if Recovermy files will recover Acronis backup files? These files have a .TIB extension. I did a COMPLETE FILE SEARCH and it did not find any of the .TIB files or any files within the backups. I did find a bunch of other files which were not backed up with Acronis.
I accidentally formatted the external drive that my backups were on. I have a 100 G Seagate which now has a partition of about 6 G and the rest id lost. The other 93 G is where the files are. Should I use the complete format recover option? George Last edited by bigdoggh; 04-16-2006 at 08:44 PM. |

Yes, if you accidentially formatted your drive then you should run the "Complete Format Recover" to get your files back. This search will find all file types, inluding deleted .TIB files.
When you run a "Complete Format Recover" search you are asked to select a 5 or 6 file types that you know were located on the drive. The default selected file types are suggested. Only add more file types to this search if you did not have any of the default selected ones on your disk. These file types are used to find the old partition information. Once found, the entire drive structure can be recovered including all files (not just the default types). The rebuilding of the old file structure does not happen until the end of the search, so be patient. |

Well, I found hundreds of files but not the TIB files. There are a couple of very small LOG files on the correct date.
When Acronics does the backup the files I back up are put in this TIB file. I am assuming that those files can't be recovered without recovering the Acronis file first? |
