My 40gb External (IEE1394) connection stopped working last week (RAW mode) and I used RECOVERMYFILES...to save my JPG files only first as a test which it did (in 4 hours) using deep scan.
I then did a deep scan to recover my MOV/MPEG/AVI/MP3 files....and it took 41 hours to find them when connected with IEE1394, but they were all corruppted. and 2 files were 30GB in size (but HD is only 40Gb in size) I than did a 2nd test connected to my Dell Latitude (usb 1.1) and searched for 1 type of file MPEG of which it found 6 files..I than stpped the search after 5 mins and were able to recover 4 of them......I now have some questions... 1) when i do a fast file search the External HD (which ever connection i use USB/1394b)....It not in the Drivers and folders to search.....BUT if i do complete file search the HD is there. 2) why did it take so long (41 hours) Dell M50 (IEE1394) was it because I searched for multiple extensions.........should I just search for one type of extension 3) when it is searching and it says that it has recovered a AVI file....should I let the program run...Can I stop search and Recover that file...Or should I wait till its finnisned...the reason i ask is that I have doing the search with the Dell Latitude C610 via usb 1.1 and it looks like its going to be a long time again. and the file I want is in the menu window My Notebooks Dell Precision M50 with (IEE1394) 2.0 ghz 1 gb ddr 40 gb (5,400) Nvidia 4200 Ti (64mb) 15" UXGA UltraSharp Dell Latitude C610 with (usb 1.1) p3 1 ghz 256 mb 20 gb 8 mb ati 14" XGA |
