Hi ****, I kind of got myself into a jam. I backed up all my important info onto my ipod and laptop over the network. Then my plan was to wipe my single drive and install xp over the whole thing. I ran the installer once and it kept hanging at some 19gig part so i rebooted and quick wiped my drive so it wouldnt hang anymore. But again it hung until i realized my ipod was the 19gig thing it was hanging on. So i rebooted and removed my ipod, to discover it had been corrupted. All the songs are there but when i try to play them it crashes and it wont show up on my laptop now. So im assuming all that datas gone since its on my ipod. So now i want to know how i can go back onto the hdd of my old comp and recover those files i had put onto my ipod.
I have a "blank" 200gig SATA drive with 3 "old" partitions on it and i havent done anything to it since. Is there a way i can over the network or through dos at boot up recover those files? Thanks for your help! |

Hi,
Recover My Files needs Windows to run, so the best thing to do would be to connect the drive as a secondary drive to another computer. Then you can run Recover My Files from the C: drive and try and get the data back from your problem drive, and also your ipod. You should be able to get your data back from your drive. I suggest you try running a "Complete Format Recover". You should aslo be able to recover files from your IPDO. There are some Ipod recovery instructions located here: http://www.recovermyfiles.com/ipod-recovery.php
