After I used Windows setup to drop an NTFS partition and fully format it, I realized I had dropped the wrong partition. I bought Recover My Files (3.94) and after 24 hours of searching it seems to have found the files. However after saving the files, none of the programs (outlook, PPT, Adobe) can read the saved files.
Ideas? |

Hi,
Are you using the latest version, 3.94? Were you able to preview the files found in the Recover My Files preview window prior to saving them? Please email some sample files that did not open to me. Please run a "Complete File Search" for some specific file types (eg. .doc, .pdf). After you have found 20 or so files, stop the search. Click on these files in the results screen. Can you preview them?

1) Yes, I downloaded 3.94 about 3 days ago.
2) I was able to see the directories and filenames when I let the system take 24 hours to generate the list of files, but the files themselves are filled with the same letter repeated (according to the preview on the files it can preview). |

Please try the Complete File Search for specific file types.
