I have problem on the Excel files that I recovered from an USB drive. The files seem to be OK on the display panel and said they are "very good", but message "can't access. File may be in read-only mode". Even after uncheck the read-only property. Only couple of the files save are able to open.

Please email some sample files that will not open to support@getdata.com.
Also, try the following; Run RMF; Click on "manually select options"; Go to the "Search" tab and take the tick off "search for deleted files" so that you are just searching for "lost" files; If it is a small USB, go to the Advanced Tab and change the search mode to "sector" - if it is a large disk this will slow the search down a lot. Run the search and search just for xls types. Prevew any "Recovered_Excel_X" files that you find (where X is a number).
