Thank you for all your replies, GDH.
After working with RMF for the past month, I have yet another discovery for you to work on (sorry). I am not too sure if you can recreat this, but here is the situation. After running a complete format recovery, with 5 suggested file types selected, I set RMF to save to a clean (just formated and not the drive that I was trying to recover), 232gb hard drive. Just to be clear, E is the driver needed to be recovered, and F is the drive on which all the files will be saved. RMF starts saving, and halfway through it a message pops up, saying that there is not enough space on the hard drive to save the files, and the saving process will be stopped. I clicked on OK to stop the process, and went to MY COMPUTER to check the drive, and there was still 180+gb of space on it. I restarted the computer, restarted RMF and the whole complete format recovery, and the same thing happened. Thinking the destination hard drive might be problematic, I replaced that with another drive, but the problem persisted. What is your take on this? |

Mmmm, thats an interesting problem. I will have to do some tests.
Are you using the latest version, 3.95? When you select the files to be saved, what is the total file size of the files to be saved as shown in the bottom bar of the results screen? Thank you.

I was using 3.95.
The total size of files selected was about 130G, and the HD was a brand new, clean 200G one. I ended up having to reboot my PC, and start the whole recovery process. It was able to save the recovered files the second time around. Thanks. Here is another question though. The HD being recovered was only 80G. How was RMF able to recover 130G worth of data? |
