Please help me.

My daughter got a virus on her laptop (win xp home edition) Norton just couldn't remove it. In the end I used a bootable cd but it was for win xp professional. Now all her hardware has disappeared, sound device, wireless network card, everything. Next I tried to format the hard drive, formatted the win xp home edition and left pro on, it wont let me format the drive that is on. I have just purchased recover my files software and it finds all her music etc but nothing else.

Also how do I put all the missing files back on her laptop once I have saved it?

Is there anyway I can get her wireless card, sound devices etc back? (hardware)

You can use Recover My Files to search for your deleted data. Once located you must save it to another drive.

Recover My Files is meant for getting your data back. It is not designed to fix hardware compatability issues.

Once you save all your data to another drive then you can start with a fresh installation of Windows which should fix all your problems.
