Hi,
I accidentally formatted a 120GB drive and installed xp on it so I don't expect to be able to recover everything... but some would be nice. This software has been running for 28 hours now - for the first 8 or so hours it seemed to be going well but now its just moving so slowly. It says Analysing file system fragment number 61730 and that number is moving up very very slowly. My question is, is it finished finding files? What is it doing at this point? It hasn't found any new files since last night. Is there anything I can do to speed it up? Also, are the filenames lost for good? |

If you chose too many options in your search field (i.e. selected all of the file types) the scan will take eons. Choose less options (no more than 5) and the program is supposed to find everything anyhow.
Hope this helps. |

Please make sure you are using the latest version, 3.40, in when we have increased the speed of a format recover.

Version 3.50 beta is now avaialble for download here: http://download.getdata.com/3-50beta/recovermyfiles.exe
We have inclulded a "Fast Format Recover" designed to quickly rebuild FAT32 and NTFS partitions (for a 100gb drive it should take less than 15 minutes).
