So last night I was forced to reformat my hard drive because the OS had to be reinstalled. I had files on my hard drive that I really needed.
Especially a Quickbooks database file. I did a search for that file type, but I don't recognize it as being a file that was found. I only had one drive - no partion drive on my laptop. Only the C: drive. How do I know if it is it? Thanks in advance. |

Okay -
So I was able to find the file and recover it! Awesome. Now, my question is this. Since I thought all of these files were gone and now that I see that they are still somewhere on my hard drive, how do I really get rid of them for good? Is there a program that will completely erase all of the deleted and unused files for good? |

We sell a product called Secure Clean. It will permanently erase deleted files. It does this by writing "0"'s over the deleted space. Please go to http://www.wipemyfiles.com and give it a try. Once you run it, try a Complete Search with Recover My Files to make sure nothing can be recovered.
