Default Program Is Hanging Up Near The End.....

Hi....

I have the program set to complete recovery and I chose 4 of the file types offered....

http://www.recruitaarontorrez.com/images/sample1.PNG

The recover seems to be complete as shown in the second picture.....

http://www.recruitaarontorrez.com/images/sample2.PNG

But the bar is not moving even thought the magnifying glass still spins over the drive.....

If I push stop, I get the box that says it stops, but it keps scanning.....

I can recover the data that is listed, but some of the files don't copy over...

The ones that don't copy are less than 1% of the total so it's not tragic, but I would like to know why this box is hanging up like that.....

Thanks...

I am using version 3.98 registered....

I have the settings to scan for NTFS only. When I had NTFS and FAT, it would finish the NTFS and hang on the FAT system scan.....

Hi,

Can you please confirm what version and build number you are using. At the very top menu click on "help" then "about".

Thank you.

Thanks for the information. It is very difficult to say exactly what this problem is. I suspect it may have something to do with a screwed up FAT partition on your drive. Do you know if you had a FAT partition? What happened to the drive in the first instance.

Have you been able to save all the recovered data off the drive?

In order to work out the exact cause we will either need to get an image of your dirve (an exact sector copy) or you can send the drive to us. Let me know if you would like to do this.

the drive is a maxtor 200gb...

I had 5 of them and all 5 got the partitions corrupted.....

I forgot what the exact problem was, but it has to do with a problem in windows xp sp2...

I was able to recover all the partitions except this one, and while the other program was trying to recover it, it somehow reformatted it....

I bought this drive new and only used ntfs partitions.....

as I said before, when the program is almost done, it looks like the entire partition is up there waiting to be copied.....

let me know how you think I should set it, and I'll run it......

it usually takes at least 10 hours......

two other things....

1. windows recognizes this as an unformatted drive.

2. I have to hook this drive up to usb because it will not work as a second drive.

the drive itself is defective, I just want to get the data before it dies altogether...

I have another maxtor 200gb, and I could do a board swap, but I would save that as a last resort.

Try and stop the current search and save whatever files you can. Are you able to do this? Can us stop this search in order to save files?

Have you tried running a "Fast Format Recover" on the physical drive? I suspect that this search may work and take less than 1 hour.

Send me an email and I will send you software and instructions.

You will need to write the image to another drive. The image does use compression, but you will need to make sure you have a large enough space to put it. You can then either send us the image on a drive or burn the image flies to DVD and send them to us.
